About The Position

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is a rapidly growing educational service company that provides educational, operational and technological support services to the post-secondary education sector. Formerly part of Grand Canyon University (GCU), GCE still works closely with GCU to benefit thousands of students, families and the local inner-city community. The Finance team is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join the team. This hybrid role will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts and ensuring timely payments to vendors. This position is only open to Arizona residents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years accounting/accounts payable related work experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience and education may be substituted upon supervisor’s approval.

Nice To Haves

• Some college-level accounting courses is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Codes all invoices into proper accounts for payment.
• Inputs invoices for payment into accounting software.
• Audits purchasing cards transactions and identifies issues, discrepancies, errors, etc. and resolves or elevates to management
• Processes expense reimbursements.
• Prints various accounts payable reports and maintains accounts payable files and records.
• Responds to, researches and resolves vendor inquiries with regard to accounts payable issues.
• Reconciles vendor statements.
• Prepares analysis of accounts as required.
• Assists with monthly financial closings.
