Account Manager, Payouts

Wise•Austin, TX

About The Position

Wise Platform provides cross-border payment services for banks, enterprise corporations, and global technology platforms. The Payouts team serves high-volume enterprise clients, including creator economy platforms, content licensing firms, and gig-economy businesses that use Wise’s API infrastructure to send funds globally. As one of the first three hires on this newly formed team, the Account Manager owns the post-sale lifecycle for North American enterprise accounts. The role covers partner onboarding and API integration, account health, and revenue expansion through growth in corridors, currencies, payout flows, business units, and transaction volume. The role also establishes foundational account management processes, escalation paths, and partner health frameworks. Initially, the role will focus heavily on go-lives and building the function; as the portfolio grows, the Account Manager will develop and expand partner relationships over time. Expansion within existing accounts is a primary focus.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of post-sale account management, customer success, or partner management experience in payments, fintech, or technical API infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding quantified expansion and net revenue growth metrics.
  • Understanding of API and payment infrastructure concepts, with the ability to scope and diagnose client technical issues and drive resolution with Engineering and Product teams.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and unstructured environments, and experience or aptitude for building operational playbooks from scratch.
  • Ability to use transactional data and client usage metrics to assess portfolio health and identify expansion opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Project-manage newly signed enterprise accounts from contract execution through their first successful payout run, partnering with Pre-Sales and Implementation teams.
  • Ensure smooth technical go-lives and transition signed contract value into active processing volume.
  • Own net revenue retention and expansion targets across the portfolio.
  • Drive adoption of new payment corridors, currencies, payout flows, and additional business units, and grow transaction volume month over month.
  • Translate pre-sale business cases into post-sale operational outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary hands-on point of contact for live enterprise partners.
  • Triage API batch failures, webhook errors, and settlement discrepancies with partner engineering teams, escalating to internal Engineering when needed.
  • Monitor transaction volume metrics to identify usage anomalies, operational risks, and drop-offs ahead of formal account reviews.
  • Design, test, and implement onboarding playbooks, account health scoring models, QBR formats, and internal escalation paths.
  • Collaborate with Wise Platform teams across Technical Support, Compliance, Pricing, and Product to improve client experience and workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor partner business models and payment flows for potential regulatory or compliance changes, working with internal Compliance teams on operational adjustments.
