About The Position

Builds relationships and works closely with Brokers to help drive new and renewing commercial Individual business for Select Health. Acts as the liaison between brokers and internal teams such as Enrollment, Billing, Member Services, etc., working closely with the managers and technical support personnel of other departments to facilitate quick and efficient problem resolution. Maintains an excellent understanding of all dimensions of Select Health in order to accurately relay information. Exercises exceptional sales skills with brokers and clients. Works with brokers to meet client's needs for information and problem resolution. Serves as a resource for sales and technical information to brokers for individual products. Understands and effectively communicates information to clients and brokers. Identifies problems and solutions to management related to benefit designs, provider relations, billing, enrollment, compliance and other concerns. Works closely with marketing to communicate latest market trends and opportunities. Convey relevant market information on plans and products to ensure Select Health's competitive edge. Prepares and conducts formal presentations to explain medical and dental benefits as well as Select Health value adds to brokers. Travels and spends time at broker locations to educate and provide superior service to client groups, strengthen relationships, and heighten the visibility of Select Health. Creates customer satisfaction and loyalty through the judicious and skilled application of sales competencies in all interactions with internal and external customers and collaborators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • Four years of experience in customer service, sales, marketing, or communications
  • Five years of sales or health care industry experience.
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong working knowledge of health insurance.
  • Ability to sell and manage the sales process.
  • Ability to handle duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision; display professionalism in judgment and decision-making.
  • Most work is done independently and may be done at the employer's place of business.

Nice To Haves

  • CO, Utah or Idaho Resident Producer License for Accident and Health. If incumbent does not have license, they must acquire licensure within six months of employment to remain in the job. Individuals without the license will be paid below the entry rate of the position until the license is obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary Select Health liaison for approximately 400 or more assigned Agents, Brokers, and Agencies focused on Individual & Family Plan (IFP) business.
  • Oversees the annual Individual market renewal cycle, including plan changes, pricing, compliance updates, and broker readiness to support Open Enrollment and Special Enrollment Periods.
  • Manages the new business and renewal process for Individual products throughout the year.
  • Acts as the liaison between brokers/agents and internal teams (e.g., Product, Billing, Compliance, Operations, and Enrollment) to ensure accurate submission, and issue resolution.
  • Maintains a deep working knowledge of all Select Health Individual products, including ACA‑compliant plans, off‑exchange offerings, dental products, and distribution channels such as HealthCare.gov, direct‑to‑consumer platforms, and broker enablement tools.
  • Serves as a sales and technical resource to brokers and agents, assisting with product positioning, eligibility questions, enrollment processes, subsidy education, compliance requirements, and member experience considerations.
  • Presents plan options, product changes, and market positioning to brokers and agencies.
  • Exercises strong consultative sales and negotiation skills to grow Individual market share and retain membership.
  • Works closely with brokers to meet customer needs for timely information, problem resolution, and service excellence, particularly during Peak Enrollment periods.
  • Identifies trends, issues, and opportunities related to product design, provider access, billing, enrollment operations, compliance, consumer experience, and agent feedback, and escalates insights to leadership with recommended solutions.
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Product teams to communicate market dynamics, competitor insights, and agent feedback.
  • Supports updates to products, tools, and materials to ensure Select Health’s competitiveness in the Individual market.
  • Plans and conducts formal broker trainings, Open Enrollment readiness sessions, and educational presentations explaining Individual medical and dental benefits, enrollment requirements, and market changes.
  • Travels regularly to broker offices, agency meetings, training events, and industry forums to strengthen relationships, educate partners, and enhance Select Health’s visibility in the Individual market.
  • Creates high levels of broker satisfaction, loyalty, and engagement through consistent application of Select Health Sales competencies and a solutions‑oriented approach in all internal and external interactions.
