About the position
Next Street is seeking an entrepreneurial and dynamic candidate to serve as the Account Manager of their NYC Lower Manhattan Business Solution Center. This role will support the financing team in connecting small businesses in NYC to affordable funding solutions. The Account Manager will deliver services to small businesses, make strategic recommendations, and serve as a trusted advisor. They will also drive business development and marketing efforts, cultivate relationships with stakeholders, and collaborate across teams to meet client needs. The ideal candidate has experience working with entrepreneurs and small business owners and is committed to personal and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the NYC Business Solutions set services to small businesses to exceed goals set by the New York City Department of Small Business Services and Next Street leadership
- Collaborate with senior team members to make strategic recommendations to small businesses regarding their financial standing
- Serve as a trusted advisor for entrepreneurs by uncovering needs, making recommendations for support, and connecting to relevant small business services, resources, and tools
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner
- Maintain long-term relationships with high potential, scaling small business clients
- Facilitate and present webinars to provide entrepreneurs with relevant training and resources
- Attend events to strengthen partnerships and business development efforts
- Ensure prompt data entry and manage for consistent and reliable data
- Familiarize oneself with different business resources available to entrepreneurs
- Drive business development and marketing efforts to attract and retain clients and partners
- Cultivate relationships with community-based organizations and stakeholders interested in helping entrepreneurs access support services
- Create targeted marketing campaigns to engage with various segments within the small business community
- Collaborate across Next Street teams to meet client's needs and share learnings
- Provide support for Next Street's business development opportunities
- Participate in internal initiatives to support the firm's values
- Have 1-2 years of experience working with Entrepreneurs and Small Business owners
- Take entrepreneurial initiative and support the team
- Develop unique leadership style and ability to lead others and shape an organization
- Effectively manage multiple priorities across various projects
- Have good writing and presentation skills
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience working with Entrepreneurs and Small Business owners
- Ability to deliver NYC Business Solutions services to small businesses and exceed goals set by the New York City Department of Small Business Services and Next Street leadership

- Relationship-driven approach to maintaining long-term relationships with high potential, scaling small business clients
- Ability to facilitate and present webinars to provide entrepreneurs with relevant training and resources
- Availability to attend morning, evening, and weekend events to strengthen partnerships and business development efforts
- Proficiency in data entry and management for consistent and reliable data
- Knowledge of different business resources available to entrepreneurs, including state, city, or other partner resources
- Drive business development and marketing efforts to attract and retain clients and partners
- Cultivate relationships with community-based organizations, community boards, Business Improvement Districts, and other stakeholders interested in supporting entrepreneurs
- Proactive approach to constructing diverse pipelines through targeted marketing campaigns
- Collaboration across Next Street teams to meet client's strategic, financial, and organizational needs and share learnings
- Support for Next Street's business development opportunities
- Participation in internal initiatives to support the firm's values
- Good writing and presentation skills

- Starting salary range for Account Manager positions is $66,600 - $73,500
- Eligibility to participate in Next Street's discretionary incentive program
