About the position
Next Street is hiring a Manager to join their team and help build their Capital Advisory services. The role involves executing strategic planning, research, and analysis projects to provide transformative solutions for clients. The Manager will have the opportunity to work on complex economic and community development challenges and collaborate with an extraordinary team. The focus of the role is on performing research, data analysis, financial modeling, strategy development, client engagement, and project support. The Manager will also contribute to firm knowledge development and support the expansion of Capital Services offerings.
Responsibilities
- Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis to understand a target market, industry, or geography
- Interview subject matter experts and conduct focus groups to deepen understanding of client challenges
- Analyze historical financial data (up to a three-statement analysis) to identify key challenges, opportunities, and tradeoffs for client
- Develop multi-year financial projections based on historical analysis
- Synthesize key takeaways to develop actionable recommendations and implementation plans to meet the client’s objectives
- Create client deliverables with research findings and recommendations in PowerPoint using visualization and charts
- Present findings to clients’ senior leadership and internal firm management
- Develop and manage project plans to meet deadlines and effectively manage firm resources
- Support the administrative needs of projects, including email communication with internal and external stakeholders, scheduling meetings, focus groups, and surveys
- Conduct notetaking for internal and client meetings, knowledge management, and project administration
- Contribute to firm knowledge development, codification, and dissemination
- Collaborate on the strategic direction of the business line and on defining and standing up the solutions offered
- Support business development efforts and keep a pulse on the market for opportunities
- Execute on Capital Advisory projects
- Mentor and coach junior team members
- Participate in recruiting efforts as needed

Requirements
- 4+ years of work experience with a professional services firm (investment banking, investment management, private credit/equity, management consulting – with financial services sector client experience, etc.) and/or a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent
- Experience and understanding of capital markets and the role financial institutions play in them
- Strong financial acumen and financial modeling skills, ideally with financial structuring experience
- Familiarity with the community development space (CDFIs, foundations, credit unions, impact investors, etc.) and government lending programs (SBA, SSBCI, etc.)
- Understanding of the impact small businesses have on their owners, employees, and communities and the role capital plays in their journey from start-up to fully scaled
- Desire to build a business line and take initiative
- Love for client services and building long-term client relationships
