About the position
We are seeking early sales hires to bring Watershed, a software platform for running climate programs, to more companies. As a founding member of our go-to-market organization, you will be responsible for selling Watershed, developing the sales playbook, expanding into new market segments, shaping the product strategy, becoming an expert in climate, and helping build the sales team. This role requires a track record of sales excellence, the ability to lead from zero to one, excellent consultative selling skills, a passion for learning and becoming an expert in complex or technical fields, exceptional communication skills, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Sell Watershed to leading companies by finding the right people, educating them about effective climate programs, and helping them succeed with Watershed.
- Develop the Watershed sales playbook, including messaging, organizational navigation, and necessary tools, to create a repeatable sales process.
- Expand Watershed into new market segments.
- Shape Watershed's product strategy by gathering and sharing customer feedback.
- Become an expert in climate and educate companies on carbon reduction targets, clean energy, carbon removal, and decarbonizing their supply chain.
- Assist in building the sales team.
- Lead sales efforts with strategic customers at an executive level.
- Build new playbooks and storytelling methods for Watershed's growth.
- Provide consultative selling by deeply understanding customer needs and helping them solve their problems.
- Dive deep into complex or technical fields, becoming an expert in climate and helping companies navigate this space.
- Possess exceptional communication skills.
- Demonstrate a track record of doing whatever it takes to succeed.
Requirements
- Track record of sales excellence, especially with strategic customers (10,000+ employees) at an executive level
- Excitement for leading from zero to one and building things from scratch
- Excellent consultative selling skills and ability to solve customer problems
- Ability to go deep on new domains and become an expert in climate
- Exceptional communication skills
- Willingness to do whatever it takes to succeed in the role
