About the position
Watershed is seeking data analysts to play a crucial role in their mission to build the most comprehensive data set on global carbon emissions. As a data analyst, you will be responsible for transforming raw business activity data into final carbon numbers and ensuring that customers understand the process. This role also involves collaborating with customer success managers, ingesting and transforming unstructured data sets, using internal tools to calculate carbon footprint assessments, and working closely with customers to validate their data. The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, organized, and has experience in analytical and/or customer-facing roles.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Customer Success Managers to define data needs for each measurement
- Ingest and transform unstructured data sets for processing in carbon data pipelines
- Use internal tooling to calculate, test, and publish carbon footprint assessments
- Assist customers in uploading correct raw data for measurement and validation
- Build and improve internal tools and methodologies for analyzing and validating carbon footprints
- Have 2+ years experience in an analytical and/or customer-facing role
- Have experience writing SQL queries or a desire to learn
- Meticulous and detail-obsessed
- Organized, systematic, and efficient
- Willingness to work with unstructured and inconsistent data
- Intuition for mapping numbers in a table to the real world

- Experience writing SQL queries, or a quantitative background and desire to learn
