Account Director, Integrated Marketing

HighwireWashington, DC
$110,000 - $135,000Hybrid

About The Position

Highwire is seeking a driven and versatile Account Director to serve as a hands-on strategic lead and connective force across our health and technology client accounts. In this role, you will be able to run standalone social and influencer programs independently while also orchestrating fully integrated campaigns that span social, content, paid, and web. You will work closely with our content, creative, influencer, and social teams to build and execute programs that meet client goals, while supporting senior team members and providing day-to-day account leadership. You will provide clear direction to project managers, strategists, and creative teams, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to timelines, and will act as a trusted, senior day-to-day contact for clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in integrated marketing, journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in social strategy, influencer marketing, and/or integrated marketing within an agency environment, with a demonstrated ability to run standalone programs in at least one core discipline (social or influencer).
  • Demonstrated experience working with health and/or technology clients; openness and ability to work cross-sector strongly preferred, given current business needs (deep specialization in only one sector is acceptable if paired with willingness to grow into the other).
  • Proven, hands-on experience executing social strategy and influencer marketing programs, with working knowledge of how these connect to broader integrated campaigns (content, paid, web).
  • Experience briefing and collaborating with creative (design) and production teams.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and conversations directly, beyond a purely tactical or practitioner-level role.
  • Solid understanding of marketing analytics and ability to interpret data to inform recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to client success.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and execute standalone social and influencer strategy and programs, demonstrating deep expertise within each individual workstream (social, influencer, content, paid).
  • Contribute to and help lead integrated marketing campaigns that combine social, content, paid, and web efforts, ensuring workstreams are connected and mutually reinforcing.
  • Serve as a key day-to-day client contact, building trust and rapport with marketing-level stakeholders, and confidently managing client conversations, not just executing as a practitioner.
  • Partner with clients to understand business objectives, target audiences, and marketing challenges, translating insights into actionable social, influencer, and integrated marketing recommendations.
  • Brief and collaborate with internal content, creative, and production teams, providing clear feedback and ensuring timely, on-brand delivery of assets.
  • Support senior leadership and more junior team members (including net-new managers) by providing guidance on social and influencer best practices and account management fundamentals.
  • Help manage day-to-day workstreams, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations, including those with regulatory or approval complexities.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance across social, influencer, and integrated efforts, providing recommendations for optimization.
  • Support health and tech sector growth by contributing subject-matter expertise to proposals and pitches as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency across social, influencer, and integrated workstreams.
