About The Position

AAA Club Alliance is hiring a sales-driven retail travel professional to help clients plan domestic and international trips, including cruises, land tours, flights, and hotels. The role focuses on providing excellent customer service, using personal travel experiences to guide clients, building lasting relationships, and meeting sales goals using AAA’s travel strategy. The associate processes bookings, payments, and travel documentation in compliance with ARC, DOT, and AAA policies; explains AAA benefits and travel perks; and addresses client concerns under management guidance. The position also includes participation in promotional events, training, and familiarization trips. Training, coaching, mentorship, and required certification provide a path to advance to Retail Travel Agent and Senior Retail Travel Agent levels. The position is based at the AAA store at 3514 Clinton Parkway, Suite K, Lawrence, Kansas. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., totaling 37.5 hours per week, with Sundays off. Starting base pay is $14.73 to $19 per hour, with eligibility for monthly incentive pay averaging $550 to $1,100 after approximately six months of employment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of retail experience.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational ability.
Proficiency with travel booking systems and web-based applications.
Working knowledge of geography.
Obtain the Certified Travel Associate (CTA) designation within two years of hire; the company covers program and testing costs and provides paid time to complete the certification.
Satisfactory pre-employment and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and state and/or vendor-specific screenings.
Ability to obtain a necessary Membership license or other required licenses, as needed to perform the essential functions of the position.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or graduation from a travel school.
At least 1 year of experience as a retail or leisure travel agent, or comparable travel experience.
