About The Position

The 601 Server takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests. The role provides welcoming, professional service, follows established service steps, and maintains food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards. Servers communicate with guests and back-of-house staff, accommodate reasonable requests, address issues, and help prepare and maintain the dining room before, during, and after service. The position may also support other departments during special events and functions.

Responsibilities

Promptly and warmly greet dining room guests and take food and beverage orders efficiently according to established steps of service.
Deliver food promptly and professionally while following safe food handling and sanitation standards; follow up with guests about additional needs or requests.
Understand menu items and ingredients, advise guests on food and drink combinations when requested, accommodate reasonable requests, and note preferences; demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
Communicate effectively and patiently with guests and staff, and work well with others.
Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared by guests.
Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information or complaints directly to a supervisor.
Set up the dining room before service and maintain it during and after service, meeting established sanitation standards.
Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
Work with staff from other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
