About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain an Ohio EPA Wastewater Treatment Works or Drinking Water Treatment Operator License within two years of employment.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds.
• Safely access tanks, manholes, and confined spaces in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Successfully complete required background, physical, and drug screening processes.

Nice To Haves

• Previous water or wastewater treatment experience.
• Mechanical maintenance experience, particularly with pumps and valves.
• Technical, mechanical, industrial, utilities, or vocational training.
• Strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, dependability, safety-mindedness, eagerness to learn, and interest in a long-term career in water and wastewater operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment and processes.
• Perform routine maintenance on plant systems, pumps, valves, and equipment.
• Conduct laboratory testing and sampling, and record results.
• Help maintain the facility, grounds, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and support reliable plant performance.
• Follow safety procedures and help the facility meet regulatory requirements.
• Participate in the rotating on-call schedule to provide emergency response coverage when needed.
