About The Position

The Surgical First Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician throughout the intra-operative phase, as well as contributing to the delivery of quality patient care by working with other surgical team members during the preoperative and immediate postoperative phases.

Requirements

  • Certified Surgical Assistant program
  • CSTFA National Certification, AHA BCLS
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • use of general patient care equipment
  • ability to adapt to changes in health care technology
  • demonstrates skilled assistance to the surgeon
  • credentialing through the medical staff

Responsibilities

  • Provides skilled assistance to the surgeon.
  • Assists with individual operating room set up
  • Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient.
  • Communicates with the surgeon and health care team regarding patient’s condition
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
