About The Position
The Surgical First Assistant is responsible for assisting the physician throughout the intra-operative phase, as well as contributing to the delivery of quality patient care by working with other surgical team members during the preoperative and immediate postoperative phases.
Requirements
- Certified Surgical Assistant program
- CSTFA National Certification, AHA BCLS
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- use of general patient care equipment
- ability to adapt to changes in health care technology
- demonstrates skilled assistance to the surgeon
- credentialing through the medical staff
Responsibilities
- Provides skilled assistance to the surgeon.
- Assists with individual operating room set up
- Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient.
- Communicates with the surgeon and health care team regarding patient’s condition
- Other duties as assigned by management.
