About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical First Assist to support the Surgical Services Team in the Main Operating Room at Baptist Medical Center Beaches. This is a full-time, day-shift position located at Baptist Beaches in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. The role provides direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures and supports safe, effective operating room operations.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
- Associate's degree required, or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist (CSTFA) certification required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures.
- Prepare the surgical suite according to surgeon preference.
- Position patients for procedures.
- Provide visualization of the operative site.
- Use techniques to provide hemostasis.
- Assist with body plan closure.
- Perform advanced skills as competency tested.
- Participate actively in the safe surgery checklist briefing and debriefing.
- Assist with operating room turnover.
