About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Services Team at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. This full-time, day-shift role supports surgeons and the operating room team by maintaining a sterile environment and helping ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures. Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and holidays and participate in the required call rotation.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays and participate in the required call rotation.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA or NCCT.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly.
- Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
- Participate in the required call rotation.
