About The Position

Baptist Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist with at least two years of experience to join its Flex Team. This is a full-time role with a flexible schedule. Candidates must work three 10-hour shifts per week, including weekends. No on-call work is required. The technologist will float between campuses, including the operating room at the Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville campus, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-focused environment. The role includes preparing and maintaining the sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and the progression of each case, properly handling specimens and instruments, and working with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety. A high school diploma is required. The position is eligible for up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The listed primary location is Baptist Digital Solutions Center, 3451 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Positions requiring a Level II Background screening are subject to detailed fingerprint-based state and national criminal history screening as a condition of employment and continued employment.

Requirements

At least two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
High school diploma.

Responsibilities

Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and the progression of the case, and prepare accordingly.
Ensure proper disposition of specimens and instruments.
Work with the entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
Float between campuses, including the Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville campus operating room.
