About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Services Team at Baptist Medical Center Clay in Fleming Island. This PRN position is based at the Clay - Main Building. The position has no call requirement and does not involve nights, weekends, or holidays.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA or NCCT is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly.
- Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
- Participate in the required call rotation.
