About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• One year of recent, sterile processing experience required
• CBSPD or IAHCSMM Central Sterile Technician certification required at time of hire
• Strong attention to detail and comfort in a fast-paced perioperative environment
• Clear, professional communication with the OR team and patient care areas

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments (steam and Sterrad) per policy, infection prevention guidelines, and manufacturer instructions, ensuring sets are complete and functioning
• Monitor and document sterilization and disinfection processes, including failure monitoring and recall procedures
• Prepare, fill, and retrieve contaminated instruments from patient care areas
• Issue, deliver, order, and stock medical surgical instruments and supplies for patient care areas
• Participate in ongoing education and training, and assist with other patient care needs as required
• Opportunity for cross-training in Medical Assistant (MA) functions, providing support within the PACU and OR settings as needed
