Responsibilities

• Retrieve and process used medical instruments.
• Clean and sterilize instruments using various chemicals and processes.
• Assemble, process, and distribute medical instruments.
• Maintain sterilization standards to support infection prevention and patient safety.
• Organize and store instruments for efficient access.
• Ensure adequate inventory of instruments as needed.
• Check work for quality issues and uphold department standards.
• Collaborate with operating room staff, hospital floors, and other departments to ensure they have needed instruments.
• Provide updates to surgeons and other medical professionals as needed.
• Adapt to changing work needs and help implement new departmental initiatives.
