About The Position

The Certified Processing Tech performs sterile processing duties for Kettering Health Dayton. The role decontaminates, sorts, cleans, assembles, wraps, packages, and sterilizes instruments, equipment, trays, and supplies. It also picks items for surgery in a timely manner and performs basic computer functions using a Windows-based system as needed. The position is full-time and scheduled for the third shift in Dayton.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous related experience and certification are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments, equipment, and other items as needed.
• Sort and clean instruments and equipment by hand and/or using a washer/disinfectant.
• Assemble, wrap, and package instruments, instrument trays, and supplies.
• Sterilize instruments and supplies using STERRAD, steam, and ethylene oxide gas sterilizers as trained.
• Pick instruments, instrument trays, and supplies in a timely manner for surgery.
• Perform basic computer functions using a Windows-based system as needed.
