About The Position

The Administrative Assistant to the Program Director for the STAR Program provides comprehensive clerical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the program and special education services. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Prior administrative assistant or office management experience preferred, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and web-based data systems.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Program Director.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate simultaneous projects and successfully prioritize multiple tasks in a detail-oriented and thorough manner while working with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively and confidentially via phone and email.
  • Perform duties in a professional, courteous, and accurate manner.
  • Assist supervisor with organization of various events, publications, and projects, including file sharing and presentation software.
  • Maintain well-organized and accurate records and files.
  • Support maintenance of student data systems and student/staff records, including student information systems, registration, staff attendance, and staff employment forms/reports.
  • Schedule IEP meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all student and staff information.
  • Manage supervisor’s correspondence, appointments, and calendar as needed.
  • Greet and assist the public.
  • Prepare payroll records and accounts receivable/payable as required.
  • Implement school policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations pertinent to the position as directed.
  • Attend professional development activities and apply learning to practice.
  • Maintain and order school supplies when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director and Special Education Director.
