Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited sonography or radiography program.
  • Organized, efficient and multifunctional.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates effective communication.
  • Ability to work varied hours, shift lengths and respond to an on-call pager which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Registry-eligible candidates must be ARDMS registered in either Vascular Technology (RVT) or RDMS (Abdominal or OB/GYN) within 6 month of employment (RVT preferred first) and both RVT and RDMS within 12 months of employment.
  • Third certification (Abdominal or OB/GYN) completed within 18 months of employment.
  • Employees that provide breast imaging are required to obtain RDMS (Breast) certification within 24 months of achieved competency.
  • Employees hired for a role specific to vascular sonography, who are not eligible to apply for Abdomen and OB/GYN certifications, are exempt from the requirement of obtaining these registries.
  • BLS certified.

Nice To Haves

  • Ultrasound Sonographer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Produces high quality images for interpretation by physicians that meet the standards established by the Mayo Clinic Radiology Departments.
  • Requires competence, as determined by competency assessments, in a variety of imaging equipment and technology.
  • Practices proper safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel and patients.
  • Fosters teamwork through effective communication.
  • Ensures high level of service to patients through proper communication, technique, and safety guidelines.
  • Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations, shift times and lengths.
  • Perform other functional duties as assigned to assure efficient and optimal patient care.
