About The Position

Sovah Health Danville is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. As a Sleep Technician joining our team, you’re embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. This role is full-time and involves a night shift. The hospital is a 250-bed acute care facility with over 120 years of service to the Danville community.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a program in Polysomnography (or equivalent experience as a Polysomnographic Technician)
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
  • Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent.
  • Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test.
  • Interviews patients to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
  • Performs testing and any additional testing required for the sleep disorder that is noted.
  • Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies.
  • Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
