About The Position

Brunel Security, part of the Obsequio Group, is seeking an Apprentice Fire & Security Service Engineer. With over 30 years of experience, Brunel Security specializes in designing and installing fire and security systems for commercial and industrial clients across the UK. This apprenticeship offers hands-on training to maintain and repair existing fire and security systems, including routine servicing, fault finding, troubleshooting, and emergency call-outs. The role involves working with systems such as Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intruder Alarms, Fire Alarms, Perimeter Security Systems, and Remote Monitoring. The apprenticeship program is delivered by Skills for Security, with block release training at their Watford centre, leading to a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician qualification.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ due to certain site requirements.
  • Must hold a valid UK driving license due to travel requirements of the role.
  • A solid understanding of basic IT.
  • Reliable, good time keeping and an effective team player.
  • Maths and English at Grade 4 GCSE (or equivalent).

Nice To Haves

  • Basic practical electric or engineering skills would be a bonus.
  • Work/site based experience would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Work on maintaining and repairing existing fire and security systems.
  • Perform routine servicing.

  • Install, maintain, and fault-find on Access Control systems.

  • Install, maintain, and fault-find on Perimeter Security Systems.
  • Install, maintain, and fault-find on Remote Monitoring systems.
  • Perform testing and maintenance on systems.
  • Train hands-on with real systems.
  • Complete a wide range of tasks and projects.
  • Build evidence from your job to support your learning.
  • Sit annual assessments at the training centre.
