About The Position
Neuroscience nurses (RNs) are responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and intervention of patients with a neurological injury or illness. They monitor the patient's neurological status, recommend interventions, administer medications, and assist with retraining the individual to return to their activities of daily living. This role involves helping patients recover behavioral, physical, and cognitive abilities, providing pre-operative and post-operative care, and exhibiting a high level of patience and sensitivity. The nurse will keep medical records current, monitor patients’ neurological activity, administer medicine and tests, and assist neurological doctors with procedures, informing them about patient’s conditions. They also ensure patients’ families are kept up to speed with patient’s status and progress.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required.
- Minimum one to three years clinical nursing experience in Neuroscience or related field.
- FL RN license.
- BLS from AHA.

Responsibilities

- Ensure patients’ families are kept up to speed with patient’s status and progress.
