About The Position

As a Cardiology RN, you will be responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various cardiac conditions and illnesses.

Requirements

  • 3 years working as a Registered Nurse in a clinical practice environment
  • Experience with EMR, eClinicalworks preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Active CO RN License

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of Cardiology experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Observe and record patient behaviors; Collect patient health history as needed
  • Communicate results and make assessments with patients and implement care plans as indicated by the care team
  • Answer patient questions in detail
  • Explain procedures and do patient prep, allergy prep, and teaching of post care when needed
  • Make patient assessments and determine when care escalation is needed
  • Help with prior authorizations and insurance related questions
  • Facilitate the care of patients during the day by responding to lab results, sharing test and lab results, and patient inquiries
  • Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests, such as EKG’s or apply and download Holter monitors
  • Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans
  • Administer medication, change wound dressings and care for other treatment options
  • Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate
  • Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best treatment plan for patients
  • Research ways to improve healthcare processes and improve patient outcomes
  • Support emergency response as needed
  • Support stress testing
  • Assist with obtaining IV access when needed
  • Assist procedural center when needed
  • Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results in appropriate EMR or record, also access and obtain records from various hospital EMR
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential and in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Serves and protects the physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Actively works towards positive interdepartmental care coordination to create the most effective patient experience possible.
