RN - Med Surg
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in various units, including MedSurg, ICU, and specialty areas. The nurse will be assigned a home unit upon the first day of orientation and will work collaboratively within the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The facility is a 492-bed hospital with a Level I Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and a Primary Stroke Center. Nurses are expected to assist with tasks such as patient turning, bathing, and other activities of daily living (ADLs). The usual patient-doctor ratio is 1:4 to 1:6, allowing for a focus on personalized patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 months of experience in MedSurg and/or ICU.
- EPIC or Cerner experience required.
- Cerner is strictly required for ICU experience.
- BLS certification.
- NIHSS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Chemotherapy administration experience preferred for 5 North MedSurg/Oncology unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to patients in various units, including MedSurg, ICU, and specialty areas.
- Work collaboratively within the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assist with patient turning, bathing, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Perform tasks specific to unit needs, such as wound care, chest tube management, medication administration, IV starts, trach care, central line blood draws, PCA pump management, and chemotherapy administration (preferred).
