About The Position

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a newly opened (July, 2018) 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the new facility will also offer services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. Nurse Managers at Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital deliver quality care to patients with varying psychiatric, behavioral and mental health diagnoses, ensuring their safety and continued care.

Requirements

  • State of Pennsylvania Registered Nurse.
  • Associates in Nursing required.
  • One year of nursing supervision required.
  • CPR certification is required upon hire and will be provided at orientation if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Nursing prefer.
  • Previous psychiatric, behavioral or mental health nursing experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the ADON and hospital leadership, ensures integration of nursing services into overall organization operations.
  • Assist with personnel management duties including screening and selection of nursing staff, completing performance evaluations, and giving feedback to ADON and the Human Resources office.
  • Schedule nursing unit staff, assuring an appropriate staffing ratio based on patient acuity, adherence to nursing department FTE standards, and compliance with all holiday and other exceptions.
  • Monitor the day to day provision of psychiatric and chemical dependency nursing care, assisting on the unit only as necessary, and communicating problems/issues with ADON as they occur.
  • Participate in treatment planning, implementation and monitoring.
  • Oversee House Supervisors.
