About The Position

The Internal Medicine Office Nurse (RN) is responsible for prescribing and coordinating comprehensive nursing care for designated patients, operating autonomously within the framework of established nursing practices, medical directives, and institutional policies and standards. This role employs the Nursing Process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver high-quality patient care. The Office Nurse also supervises and educates other clinical staff members (LPNs and Medical Assistants) in executing delegated tasks essential to the patient's therapeutic plan.

Requirements

  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and equipment.
  • Relevant nursing experience is required; new graduates will not be considered due to the lack of available orientation resources.
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support - AHA)
  • Must possess an active New Hampshire license or a valid Compact license at the time of application.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct nursing interventions by assessing patient needs, formulating nursing care plans, implementing strategies, and evaluating outcomes to optimize health results.
  • Engage proactively with physicians, nursing colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members to craft and execute personalized care plans tailored to individual patient requirements.
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive medical records detailing patients' conditions, therapies administered, and progress. Proactively communicate any significant changes or clinical concerns to relevant team members.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in compliance with established hospital protocols and safety guidelines to ensure patient safety.
  • Provide thorough education to patients and their families concerning disease management, treatment options, and preventive strategies to enhance overall health and wellness.
  • Serve as a compassionate advocate for patients’ rights, delivering emotional support and ensuring they experience respectful and dignified care.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to uphold a safe and ethical healthcare environment.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development, staying informed about the latest medical advancements, best practices, and industry standards to enhance clinical competency.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as required by the organizational needs.
