About The Position
The Community Hospice has a rewarding opportunity for a Part-Time RN to work as a part of our Hospice Team at the Hospice Inpatient unit (HIPU) located on the 5th Floor at St. Peter’s Hospital. Schedule is 2 12 hour shifts per week with an every other weekend rotation. This position is unique in providing an opportunity to have a tremendous impact on patient and family quality of life at a crucial time.
Requirements
- NYS RN Licensure
- ASN required
- 1-2 years recent acute care experience
- Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and peers.
- Strong computer skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Hospice experience highly preferable
Responsibilities
- Works as a staff RN on the Hospice Inn unit
- Coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive plan of care to provide added support to patients and families. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with a team (our teams include patient care techs, medical directors with specialized expertise in end of life care, social workers, chaplains, complementary therapists and volunteers).
