About The Position

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in an operating room environment.
• State of California Registered Nurse License.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• American Heart Association ACLS certification.
• Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) license.
• Certified Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) license.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients’ physical status, collecting and recording relevant information through methods such as patient interviews and medical-record review.
• Listen to patients and respond to their needs, seeking to understand their perceptions of care related to surgical procedures.
• Identify interventions needed to achieve expected outcomes based on each patient’s surgery, illness, or injury.
• Anticipate potential problems during surgical procedures and adjust priorities in response to emergencies or changes in patient status.
• Create and maintain a sterile field.
• Anticipate equipment and supply needs before surgical cases.
• Demonstrate knowledge of expected surgical outcomes and anesthesia drugs.
• Evaluate nursing interventions against established expected outcomes, reassess patient status, and revise the plan of care as needed.
