About The Position

The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is a registered nurse with specialized education and technical skills who assists the surgeon with intraoperative procedures beyond the scope of practice of nurses without RNFA education and training. The RNFA may provide direct patient care preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively using the nursing process.
