About The Position
Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse First Assist for the Operating Room at Hackettstown Medical Center. Hours vary, and weekend call is required as needed. The role supports physicians during operative procedures, including general, vascular, and plastic/cosmetic procedures. The nurse uses the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Working through Shared Governance, the nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to promote evidence-based care within a healing culture for patients and their families. The nurse is expected to demonstrate Atlantic Health’s PRIDE values: Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity, and Excellence, and to have excellent communication and computer skills.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RNFA program.
- Valid New Jersey nursing license.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- Three years of current operating room experience.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience in general, orthopedic, ENT, podiatry, urology, and plastic surgery.
Responsibilities
- Support physicians during operative procedures, including general, vascular, and plastic/cosmetic procedures.
- Use the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patients’ plans of care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members through Shared Governance to promote evidence-based care and a healing culture for patients and families.
- Demonstrate the PRIDE core values: Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity, and Excellence.
- Take weekend call as required.
