About The Position
The Dietetic Assistant works to improve patients’ well-being by providing dietary support, delivering nutritional care, following up with patients, and communicating patients’ nutritional information appropriately to other health professionals. The role coordinates meal plans with healthcare professionals and nutritionists, takes meal orders by phone and at the bedside, and helps patients make selections that reflect cultural or religious preferences. It also reviews and updates meal tickets to comply with prescribed diet orders, processes diet changes, tube-feedings, and NPO orders, and maintains accurate records. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–3 years of prior experience.

- Prior experience in a call center or another healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient meal plans with healthcare professionals and nutritionists.
- Take patient meal orders by phone and at the bedside.
- Assist with meal selections while considering cultural and religious preferences.
- Review and modify patient meal tickets as needed to comply with prescribed diet orders.
- Process new diets, diet changes, tube feedings, and NPO orders efficiently while maintaining accurate records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
