Physician Assistant, PD, Orthopedic Surgery - Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center
About The Position
Atlantic Health is seeking a per diem Physician Assistant to provide inpatient coverage for the orthopedic spine team at Overlook Medical Center. The role works a rotating schedule covering day shifts. The PA assists with rounds and consultations, first assists in spine cases, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, evaluates postoperative patients, and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to provide patient care. Occasional cross-coverage with the orthopedic joint and trauma team is also required, working with APPs and orthopedic residents. The team will work collaboratively to accommodate scheduling needs when possible.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited PA program.
- Valid New Jersey license; the posting lists APN or PA.
- Active PA board certification, or active board certification in the area of APN specialty.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- At least 3 years of experience in orthopedic acute care.
- Experience in acute care and advanced practice in orthopedics, trauma, or spine.
- Able to work collaboratively, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Previous experience in the operating room as a first assist.
