About The Position
The Nurse Practitioner will work alongside physicians and facilitate advanced primary and specialty nursing services for the Neurology/Stroke Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center and Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center. The role provides general and preventive care for children and adults, including check-ups, illness treatment, laboratory-test orders, and medication prescriptions. The position is part of Atlantic Medical Group, a physician-led and physician-governed multispecialty organization serving northern and central New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania. The program is associated with Overlook Medical Center’s Atlantic Neuroscience Institute and its stroke and neuroscience services.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a related area.
- Current state Nurse Practitioner license.

- Five or more years of experience in Nursing or a relevant area.
Responsibilities
- Provides new-patient consultations and reviews health histories.
- Performs physical examinations and patient screenings.
- Provides patients and families with after-care and ongoing-care information and resources.
- Maintains patient records, including test results, immunizations, and changes in condition.
- Delivers quality, physician-level care while complying with company policies, safety regulations, and productivity metrics.
- Recommends further treatment options or future appointments when required.
- Diagnoses health problems and provides medications.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Provides general and preventive care, including check-ups, illness treatment, and ordering laboratory tests.
