About The Position
Lactalis Heritage Dairy, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is hiring a PLC Systems Technician in Tulare, California. The technician designs, modifies, programs, tests, installs, and supports control systems that provide ongoing operational information for the factory. The role works closely with maintenance technicians, process operators, and management to troubleshoot and support plant-floor control and information systems. Training combines conventional instruction with hands-on experience. The scheduled shift is 3rd shift, 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, with some weekend coverage required. The position may require extended hours, overtime, coverage of other shifts, and work aligned with the plant’s production schedule or equipment availability. The work is in a demanding, hands-on industrial environment that may not be climate controlled and involves extensive walking and lifting or carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience as a PLC Systems Technician or in a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of automation and preventive maintenance.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Very strong SAP PM and MM skills as a power user.
- Technical proficiency in network and computer hardware, computer operating systems, and computer operation.
- Technical proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Technical proficiency in FactoryTalk View SE programming and troubleshooting.
- Technical proficiency in ControlNet and EtherNet/IP programming and troubleshooting.
- Technical proficiency in industrial electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting, analog control signals, and industrial pressure, flow, and temperature systems.
- Technical proficiency with Allen-Bradley PowerFlex variable-frequency drives and Allen-Bradley servo systems.
- Technical proficiency with office systems, ThinManager and thin clients, database and Historian management, and virtual servers.
- Understanding of EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP LANs and WANs, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Windows environments.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and willingness to learn and develop skills in a hands-on environment.
- Ability to meet physical demands that include extensive walking and lifting or carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, modify, program, test, install, and support factory control systems.
- Establish work priorities and interact effectively with technicians and management.
- Apply team concepts in collaboration with technicians and management staff.
- Develop new skills through training and hands-on experience.
- Communicate effectively, organize time and work, and interface with all levels of management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process-control and information-system problems, including systems such as PLC-5/XXE, SLC 500, ControlLogix, RSLinx, AssetCentre, Historian, FactoryTalk View SE, ThinManager, thin clients, and plant virtual servers.
- Provide plant-floor technical support to maintenance technicians and process operators troubleshooting PLCs and other plant control systems.
- Modify PLC logic, HMI screens, instrumentation and controls, and electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Work overtime, weekends, or other shifts as needed for project needs, absences, PTO, or plant production requirements.
