About The Position

Requirements

• For CRNP candidates: successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.
• For CRNP candidates: current state RN license and CRNP certification; eligible for licensure by the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing and certification as a CRNP by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• For PA candidates: graduation from a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
• For PA candidates: current state PA license and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, other providers, staff, departments, and patients and families.
• Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment, handle multiple or changing priorities, and use specialized equipment.
• Critical-thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities related to patient care; good clinical judgment; and ability to apply and lead others in applying acceptable standards of practice.
• Mobility, visual-manual dexterity, and physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning patients.
• Successful attainment and maintenance of hospital privileges, if applicable to the business unit practice.
• Act 33, Act 73, and Act 34 clearances are required.
• For Senior Level: at least 3 years of experience or completion of a post-graduate residency.
• For Senior Level: completion of national certification.
• For Senior Level: achieve a Solid/Strong/Good performance rating or higher on the annual performance evaluation for consideration and to maintain status annually.
• For Senior Level: complete an OAPP-approved professional contribution within one year of hire or promotion and obtain department chair approval for promotion.
• For Senior Level: required applicable certification (such as ACLS, ITLS, NALS, or PALS) must meet AHA standards, including didactic and skills-demonstration components, within 30 days of hire; in outpatient or other non-inpatient settings, an approved relevant and value-added business-unit certification may be used.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operating room.
• Run high-volume clinics treating and managing complex hand trauma, soft-tissue extremity trauma, and facial trauma.
• Provide wound care and manage drains and sutures.
• Run independent clinics for postoperative patients.
• Communicate with surgeons, administrators, residents, and clinical teams.
• Coordinate care with consulting teams.
• Provide and manage patient care for a group of patients and their families using independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and families to support desired outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
• Formulate plans of care that consider individual patient needs and provide care in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and families, both verbally and through documentation.
• Identify patient and family education needs and provide basic education to support the episode of care.
• Identify opportunities to improve clinical practice, patient safety, quality, satisfaction, and the workplace; make recommendations and participate in change initiatives.
• Engage in clinical development and continuous learning, seek feedback and guidance, and pursue professional development.
• Apply knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and assess and interpret patient data in light of age-specific needs.
• Support workplace safety and demonstrate accountability for professional development and quality of patient care.
