About The Position

Belcara Health is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join its Plastic Surgery team in a full-time role based primarily in the operating room. The PA will work directly with plastic surgeons and is expected to provide skilled first-assist support, perform suturing and surgical closure within their training, privileges, and scope of practice, and work confidently and efficiently as part of an experienced surgical team. Plastic surgery experience is preferred, but candidates with significant first-assist and closure experience in other surgical specialties are encouraged to apply. The role requires a PA who can become a dependable extension of the surgeon in the OR, anticipate procedural needs, understand the progression of cases, and carry out assigned responsibilities with a high degree of independence. Strong suturing and closure skills, meticulous tissue handling, and an interest in refining surgical technique are important. Although primarily OR-based, the PA may also support surgical patient care outside the operating room, including preoperative evaluation and preparation, postoperative assessment, wound care, patient education, documentation, and escalation of postoperative concerns. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, at Belcara Health in Baltimore, Maryland. Belcara Health emphasizes personalized patient care, teamwork, professionalism, patient safety, accountability, and an exceptional patient experience.
