Mayo ClinicRochester, MN
$130,000 - $182,000Onsite

About The Position

Mayo Clinic is a top-ranked healthcare provider known for putting patients first and investing in its employees with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. This role is within the Hospital Internal Medicine (HIM) department, one of the largest NP/PA practices at Mayo Clinic-Rochester. As NP/PA hospitalists, providers work with significant autonomy, staying current with evidence-based medicine to care for a medically complex and diverse patient population. Responsibilities include all aspects of hospitalized patient care: admission, discharge, daily rounding, and patient education. The HIM department encompasses various medical services including general internal medicine, geriatrics, telemetry, perioperative medicine, medical hematology and oncology, and telemedicine. Staffing models allow for collaboration between physicians, NP/PAs, and Desk Operation Specialists. The role involves 24/7 care, including nights, holidays, weekends, and an on-call structure. Beyond clinical practice, there are opportunities for leadership in administration, quality improvement, research, education, and committees. Collaboration on research and quality improvement projects with physician and NP/PA colleagues is encouraged. The department also serves as a training ground for NP, PA, and medical students, residents, and fellows, offering involvement in clinical education. New providers receive comprehensive orientation, including the Mayo model of patient care, hospital medicine modules, EMR training, dictation, ECG interpretation, ACLS/BLS, and simulation-based learning in HIM Boot Camp.
