About The Position

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old, or at least 18 depending on location requirements.
• Current Board of Pharmacy registration or licensure where applicable.
• Ability to operate computers, registers, and pharmacy systems.
• Successful completion of required pharmacy training programs and technician development requirements.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy procedures, prescription processing, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Proficiency with computer systems and basic math calculations.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Professional, courteous communication when assisting patients and handling inquiries, including verbal and written communication and phone interactions with patients and providers.
• Attention to detail in prescription input, labeling, calculations, and record management.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining workflow and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with prescription terminology, dosage forms, and product recognition.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort standing for extended periods and completing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

• Availability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing prescriptions, entering data, and preparing medications within regulatory guidelines and under a pharmacist’s supervision.
• Assist patients, answer inquiries, process transactions, and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Manage pharmacy records and maintain accurate prescription documentation.
• Restock supplies and keep the pharmacy workspace clean and organized.
• Follow HIPAA requirements and applicable federal, state, company, division, and store policies and laws.
• Operate computers, registers, and pharmacy systems to support daily operations.
