Requirements

  • Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy prior to start of employment
  • Demonstrates high level of organizational skills
  • Demonstrates independent functioning
  • High school graduate or equivalency

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years’ experience in hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • IV Certification preferred
  • Associates degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the operations manager in ensuring the day-to-day duties of technicians are performed
  • Inventory management, organization, and ordering of supplies, IVs, and other items
  • Using all drug procuring software and assisting the pharmacy buyer when needed
  • Maintaining Pyxis (or current dispensing technology) PAR levels
  • Completing controlled substance audits and assisting in resolution of medication discrepancies
  • Occasional KPI reporting
  • Collaborating with IV pharmacist to complete yearly sterile room competencies of IV certified staff
  • Oversite of the pharmacy technician (HS and college level) students on rotation in the facility
  • Supporting the free-standing emergency room centers (FEDs)
  • Assisting in the various activities of the pharmacy department under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Preparing and distributing medications
  • Maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records
