Requirements

• Relevant nursing experience and demonstrated competencies for the assigned specialty.
• Current credentials required for the assignment; required credentials and specialty competencies must be verified before placement.
• Ability to meet the requirements of assigned units.
• Sound clinical judgment, effective communication, and accurate documentation.
• Ability to respond appropriately to changing patient conditions.
• Comfort working in fast-paced clinical environments, managing changing patient needs, following facility-specific protocols, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Reliable attendance, communication of availability, and fulfillment of accepted assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Monitor vital signs, symptoms, laboratory findings, and changes in clinical condition.
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility policies.
• Recognize clinical deterioration and escalate concerns promptly.
• Perform nursing procedures within the RN scope of practice and demonstrated competency.
• Maintain accurate patient records and electronic health documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment, recovery, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Follow infection prevention, medication safety, patient identification, and confidentiality standards.
• Participate in shift handoffs, care coordination, and transitions of care.
• Respond to emergencies and follow applicable rapid response and escalation procedures.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment.
• Perform perioperative duties and surgical safety procedures as applicable to OR assignments.
• Support surgical preparation and recovery in Pre-Op and PACU assignments.
• Provide care appropriate to patient acuity and monitoring needs in ICU, PICU, PCU, SDU, and Telemetry assignments.
• Follow applicable emergency and behavioral health protocols in ED/ER and BHS assignments.
• Maintain reliable attendance, communicate availability, and fulfill accepted assignments.
