About The Position

VIC the PICC ("VTP") is a specialized healthcare provider offering vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare. They provide vascular access device insertion services, post-access support services including declotting, line removal, port access, and venous access troubleshooting. VTP also offers continuing education, precepting, and other educational support to clinical team members and customers. As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with customer clinical teams to resolve venous access issues and facilitate treatment objectives. The role may involve working inside or outside the hospital setting, providing a unique opportunity to observe different treatment protocols and patient challenges. This position is presented as an alternative to demanding 12-hour shifts, allowing for quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with current license
  • American Heart BLS Certification
  • Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs
  • Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound
  • Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and auto insurance
  • Must possess a smart phone
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to patient sites

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation
  • Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices
  • Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc.
  • Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD's
  • Visit patients in different customer facilities and therefore must be willing to travel to customer facilities
  • Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated based on business needs
