About The Position

Requirements

• One-year certificate from a college or technical school; three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of welding and fabrication experience; welding certification is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with groups of employees.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry, and trigonometry to practical work situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, verbal, diagram-based, and schedule-based instructions.
• Basic computer skills sufficient to access and use the work order system.
• Current state driver’s license.
• Current Marvin Wood Products forklift operator’s license.
• Must possess or obtain the required tools identified on the applicable tool list.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical information to determine work procedures.
• Dismantle, move, assemble, install, align, repair, and lubricate machinery and equipment.
• Install equipment and components, including shafting, conveyors, and speed-reducer assemblies.
• Construct machine foundations and secure machinery by bolting, welding, riveting, or other appropriate fastening methods.
• Perform preventive maintenance service and necessary repairs on lift trucks.
• Perform minor machining work using an engine lathe and vertical mill, including grinding, filing, turning, cutting keyways, and producing parts to dimensional specifications.
• Respond to call-back requests when directed by the supervisor.
• Plow snow as needed using a company vehicle.
• Assist with the training and development of millwright trainees.
• Plan and organize work to use time efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality in alignment with policy expectations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
