About The Position

Turner Industries Group is seeking an experienced NCCER Millwright for a maintenance position in Plaquemine, LA. The Millwright position installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings and written instructions in industrial establishments. This is a non-exempt role that reports to the Foreman. Assigned duties are according to specific procedures and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

NCCER certification
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in specified skill
Valid TWIC card
Ability to pass DISA Hair and Oral Fluid Test
Ability to pass a background check
Written pre-employment qualification test
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
Hazard Communication orientation/test
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place

Responsibilities

Installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings and written instructions in industrial establishments.
Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Dismantles machines.
Moves machinery and equipment.
Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers.
Aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method.
Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
May be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.
Remove plant equipment, disassemble, repair and reinstall.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
