About The Position

The Medical Laboratory Technician at RISE COMMUNITY HOSPITAL LLC is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The role involves working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely test results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and adhering to quality control protocols.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a recognized certifying body such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Experience in performing routine laboratory tests and procedures in areas such as hematology, microbiology, immunology, and chemistry.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic medical records.
  • Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and technology, including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately interpret test results and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure precise documentation and reporting of laboratory findings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to safety and quality standards in the laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology.
  • Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens following established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Record and interpret test results, and communicate findings to healthcare providers in a clear and concise manner.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory procedures and results.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards, including OSHA and CLIA regulations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and trainees as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
