Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Automotive technical training or vocational certification preferred.
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is often preferred or required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Previous automotive repair experience preferred.
  • Employees must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Lifting parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Working with tools, machinery, and vehicle components in a shop environment.
  • Employees must always maintain a constant state of situational awareness.
  • Employees must provide a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC).
  • pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicle problems using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as brakes, engines, transmissions, steering systems, and suspension parts.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and identify safety concerns.
  • Explain repair needs and maintenance recommendations to customers.
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
  • Follow safety procedures and manufacturer standards.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
