About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance.
• 10+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably as a journeyman mechanic.
• Ability to use all common types of hand and power tools.
• Ability to use common fabrication equipment and methods such as saws, lathes, mills, and welders.
• Experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair complex machinery.
• Ability to coordinate resources, contractors, supplies and equipment for project execution.
• Ability to train and mentor others on maintenance skills and equipment.
• Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures, including lock out-tag out, confined space and fall protection.
• Perform complex maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting mechanical issues, repairing equipment, and performing preventative maintenance.
• Operate all common types of tools and maintenance equipment such as welding machines, machining equipment, multimeters, and power tools.
• Operate medium to heavy duty equipment, including man and material lifts.
• Understand mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and take corrective actions to restore equipment to proper working condition.
• Replace or repair defective components, parts, or systems as needed.
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff and production operators to resolve equipment issues promptly.
• Document maintenance activities and communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members in operations and engineering.
• Perform tasks with minimal supervision, managing time and resources effectively.
• Mentor maintenance technician I, providing trade skill development.
