Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting.
• Utilize knowledge of medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct use and care of equipment, and observation techniques.
• Report and record resident information accurately.
• Apply nursing theory and its application.
• Comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, and the philosophy of the institution.
• Maintain a courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors, and co-workers.
• Meet the needs of the elderly.
• Be aware of cost containment, utilize time fully, and properly care for equipment.
