Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a hospital surgical suite preferred.
  • Must possess a State Registered RN license.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and ACLS certification preferred.
  • Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general nursing care to patients.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and company policies.
  • Prepare equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physician.
  • Greet patients and prepare them for physician examination.
  • Screen patients for appropriate information.
  • Complete patient history.
  • Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls.
  • Instruct patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Maintain and review patient's records, charts and other pertinent information.
  • Maintain exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials.
  • Ensure cleanliness.
  • Prepare list of medical supplies needed.
  • Maintain correct inventory levels of supplies and medications.
  • Develop and perform patient education.
  • Complete and discuss pre-op procedures with patient.
  • Give injections.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and other materials.
  • Tray set-up for examination and surgical procedure.
  • Maintain strictest patient confidentiality.
  • May also be called upon to provide technical training and guidance to MA, LVN and perform special projects for Physician.
